HOW I REMOVED CASSETTE KEYS FROM A JVC M70

I had to replace some some scratched and chipped cassette keys on a JVC M70. They are hard epoxied to the control arm and almost impossible to remove. But here is how I did it.

I got a Soldering Iron with a large tip for good heat transfer.

I placed the soldering iron and applied heat to the control arm for a few minute just enough to soften the hard epoxy, then just pulled the key out from the control arm.

Sooooo smart!

I suggested this to member stretch for his M71 restoration but I don't think he got that far :lol:.

THanks guys, I felt that it was important to post that one part of my restoration. The rest of the restoration was just your common breakdown and clean up, as you have seen so many times, and BadboyBill has many great posts on that procedure. :thumbsup:

We actually use same concept to take off metal pulleys on motors. Heat up shaft some and it slides right off :thumbsup:
