IMHO, This era of Lasonic was not about being Classy. It was about street corner domination, intimidating looks and full on volume at any cost! The Crown 950 is (again IMHO) one of the best looking radios ever made, right up there with the Tosh BB40. But if this was 1985 and I was walking out into the center of town at high noon....I would want the 931 in my holster! Chick's don't right off into the sunset with volume losers!redbenjoe said:

Honestly, haven't heard the LASONIC brand close up.only the CROWN 5100 knock-off..how do they compare to the might C-100 or M90? Lasonic has a better build quality than the Crown 5100, but the SOUND and VOLUME is 10x better than the Crown. Only similarities is the size and look, that's where it ends.

i'll say this , if you look at how many conions ,m90's and gf 777's that are all ****ed up in some way after years of use they still are not as reliable as the motherfucking trc 931 and you really don't see these all missing tape drawers and the damed conion tape deck door that's either locked close or some stupid basterd ruined the box to retrieve a $5.00 cassette tape. nope mostly just ****ed up function switches because some dumb butter fingered moron can't turn a godamned knob . and bass wise forget it the 931 will bitch stomp the conion the gf777 and the m90 , none of these can take the bass like the 931 and the woofers are completely inferior to the lasonic.

these might be big and so called empty but really it has what it needs to operate ,i mean what more can you add to a ****ing box that cost from 99 bucks to 150 bucks new and can whoop ass at that low price . theres just no other box in the lasonic's price range that even comes close.

No line in would be a deal breaker tho....can anyone tell me if the Lasonic 975 has a good line in? My SZ-5100 had no line-in & that was the main reason I didn't hold onto it, even tho it looked amazing with the LEDs...

dude i think the thread is about falling in love or already loving some lasonic's least wise i hope i hope it is lol. i wish i had every lasonic made ,good or bad , hell i can't even say that about jvc's.
or any other brand except for maybe conion because they did make mostly big bad ass radio's. even the smaller conions are cool looking.
