IMHO, This era of Lasonic was not about being Classy. It was about street corner domination, intimidating looks and full on volume at any cost! The Crown 950 is (again IMHO) one of the best looking radios ever made, right up there with the Tosh BB40. But if this was 1985 and I was walking out into the center of town at high noon....I would want the 931 in my holster! Chick's don't right off into the sunset with volume losers!redbenjoe said:almost agree -
but the only reason some may get ' soft-ons ' over it is bc its has that cheapo look -
check out the 4 score thread https://boomboxery.com/forum/index.php/topic/22248-4-boxes-in-14-days/
all these may be perceived as classy & quality
just that the 931 kills them in volume

When judging boomboxes, certain criteria must be met. Getting l..d is one of them!

Honestly, haven't heard the LASONIC brand close up.only the CROWN 5100 knock-off..how do they compare to the might C-100 or M90? Doubt that it would keep up in an honest contest but for a cheaper 'head shop' blaster, I'm sure the 931 pwns the rest of the class...Lasonic TRC-920 said:That looks great. F

YUP! YUP!! Want a fully working, good version of the 975 with fresh white woofers, The Crown looked dope with RGB woofers & back-lit tape keys & cassette bay,,,,but the quality was poop.....blu_fuz said:You throw a disco party into a 931, you will be the talk of the town.......

Tell me how you really feel broJVC Floyd said:i'll say this , if you look at how many conions ,m90's and gf 777's that are all farked up in some way after years of use they still are not as reliable as the motherfarking trc 931 and you really don't see these all missing tape drawers and the damed conion tape deck door that's either locked close or some stupid basterd ruined the box to retrieve a $5.00 cassette tape. nope mostly just farked up function switches because some dumb butter fingered moron can't turn a godamned knob . and bass wise forget it the 931 will bitch stomp the conion the gf777 and the m90 , none of these can take the bass like the 931 and the woofers are completely inferior to the lasonic.

I wish they were still $99 - $150.JVC Floyd said:these might be big and so called empty but really it has what it needs to operate ,i mean what more can you add to a farking box that cost from 99 bucks to 150 bucks new and can whoop ass at that low price . theres just no other box in the lasonic's price range that even comes close.
All the Lasonic's have line in. The 975 looks fantastic and the LBS hit's hard. It stands on it's own out of all the big black Lasonic's because of the LBS. Those are some speakers that dance.Cpl-Chronic said:No line in would be a deal breaker tho....can anyone tell me if the Lasonic 975 has a good line in? My SZ-5100 had no line-in & that was the main reason I didn't hold onto it, even tho it looked amazing with the LEDs...
