I have a GF-9494. In the photos I've seen of the GF-9696 it looks almost the same except it has LED meters instead of analog meters. The controls all look like they are the same, and in the same position. Is it a worthwhile upgrade?

Does anyone have both of them? How do they compare physically size wise? Also, can someone comment on the sound of the GF-9696 in comparison with other well known radios of similar size?

Lots of questiosn here.... thank goodness we have folks here who love to talk. :-D

Thanks.

Same dimensions as the GF-9494.
The GF9696 is similar in many regards to the M70, it's a very nice box but they tend to sell on the high side. I would hold out for a nice on, the junkers can be tempting but they sell for to much.

Ira is contemplating his earth shaking 1000th post

Well, if that's the case, I guess it's important to choose the right topic to post on..... should be a topic that fits the moment, right?
