Since the rxdt680 is bi-amped, is there a way to hook up a powered sub without damaging the internals of the boom box or the sub? Thank u.

It depends on the sub I guess.
I have a REL T5 and can have it for example connected to the speaker outs of the DT680/CT990/980 main unit,
so called high-level input connection.
