I agree with Reli, its not so crazy to think that a few collectors would be prepared to got that
high to own such a nice looking and rarely seen Marantz boomer.

Lets not forget the recent $60,000 watch ! In comparison the amount paid
for this boomer is loose change :yes:

I've definitely never seen that marantz model before, in my limited experience.
Looks like an odd box! Only 8D's with a turntable?
I would definitely pounce on one if I saw one, but /I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

I'm with Reli and AZA, I know theres a couple of BRUTAL Marantz collectors and I could see them throwing lots at this to complete their collections.

In that respect, I reckon they got a bargain.

OK, I had the chance to look more closely on my computer rather than the Iphone and I now agree :agree: :agree: this was not a bad deal given the rarity and how clean it looks :drool: :-D Including the manual, not BAD ;-)

For those Hi-fi "real stereo" DAC and so called collectors probably thats pretty normal price. I was talking to one such guy last night about buying some boomboxes from him. And he just was explaining me how for example they SHOULD have all top models from one maker to complete collection. And Marantz , Nakamichi and so can kick some high price levels. So not really surprised :yes: . Didnt get the reason that this guys are willin to have our "cheap plastic" (they are talking for our boxes so :thumbsdown: ) , but yea we need to fight with them some times for bbx and those guys are normally posh, reach momma's sons never seen a real job :thumbsdown: .

Don't know much about the Marantz. Looks pretty spiffy and hi-end, and I know I haven't seen one before. May well be worth what it went for. Still... this is what happens when two snipers put in "superbids" to try to leap over everyone else. One of them gets caught. :'-(

Personally I'm glad I'm done with eBay and any collecting I may still do is going to be anywhere but. eBay has become a dirge of sh!t.
