I got this Yamaha YST-11 mini system from Ebay a few weeks ago. It was not working correctly and still isn't 100% ,but tonight I was monkeying around with it and got it to work while turning the whole unit upside down????? :hmmm: :hmmm:
All I can say is HOLY ****!!!!! what a loud bass machine! interestingly enough the PC boards and components are made by Sharp. :hmmm: I've never heard anything that size sound like this thing does. It's kind of like the Technics system that does not take batteries, but still this thing rocks the house, literally. It kind of reminds me of a Kaboom but with more detailed sound and a hell of a lot louder. What do you guys think?
With the dorky grills on. :dunce:

i agree about the sound quality --
never heard the # 11
but once had the # 10

and the speakers were awsome in every way-

the front vents pushed out more air than a kaboom ~~

These are really quite powerful little systems. Great sound in a small package for sure. You could theoretically run it off of some gel cells...if yoou could hook up with those beach fellows seen elsewhere on the site.

Whoa! :-O 95 watts! I'd like to know how many are actually output watts. Heck... even if only 50% come back out, that's a lot of power.

Yes It was on Ebay a few weeks ago. I thought I would go for it as the speakers are worth the money I paid for it. It has a few issues I need to see if I can fix yet. It is a very complex unit. :hmmm:

It doesn't have a fold up handle, just twin built in handles on the top by the cd player.

well they were really expensive when new and i can see why. in fact the speakers for this unit kind of have a cult following if you poke about in cyberspace a bit you can see good things said about them.
yamaha really put out some of the best smaller stereos back in the day.
i have a pc8 kicking around here and its a really nice boombox.
that one pictured here tho is just a amazing stereo for its size. in fact its better soundiing than some home stereos.

Great find but remember it's not a boombox so it dosen't realy matter how good it is, but still congrats mate. :-)
