Got this Hitachi TRK-9900E on a flea a few weeks ago. It definitely got power - 82W - and is fully working. High quality unit, lots of switches and knobs  It is more of a home stereo though, especially cause you cannot really plug the speakers in when attached to the main unit, which is pretty weird. Or maybe I just haven't figured it out yet.

Yeah, got a handle and eats 10 mono Ds, but the speakers have to be plugged into the sides of the main unit... which is not possible when the speakers are attached. So when taking a walk you cant blast out music unless you stop, drop the box, unhinge the speakers and connect them. Maybe I have to customize the plugs, make them smaller so they won't block the speakers anymore.

Are you sure I have a 3 pce that hooks to the sides but there is a certain way to slide speaker to get over the wire jack :hmmm: take some pics for us

Very nice score Zippy
These Hitachi's are definately heavy and a real power house.

The metal screws on the side of the box for connecting the speakers
are supposed to also make the connection for sound in place of using
the speaker wires  The wires should only be required when seperating
the speakers from the main unit.
