Hi, just tried to play a cassette, and it was a no go. It still fast-forwards and rewinds, but when I touch the spools, the belts on there feel slack too. The play belt has definitely gone. I checked online and the only result I found was an Australian site, and they want $17 (just over £10) for a 3 belt kit. As it may cost quite a bit for postage, does anyone know where else I can buy belt sizes FRX10.5 & SCX7.0?

Thanks so much for the links! The belt part numbers I have here (FRX10.5 & SCX7.0) aren't listed on either sites. Will I have to take the unit apart and measure the belts? Also on this site, some belts are under £1, and others of the same description are £95!

You can always reduce 5 to 8% of the circumference without any problems. Please try that route and in many cases that will make it a snug fit.

Other options? Let me ask my close friend, former chief engr of Philips Radios from England now settled in Canada.
