Hi, All.
My 2nd Hitachi TRK-8130E has speakers that sound very 'rough' and somewhat muffled. One speaker isn't too bad but the other one is quite bad. As a beginner, this is new to me and the only 'test' I could think of was to check/compare the sound through headphones. The TRK-8130E has an automatic speaker cut-off when headphones are plugged in. Listening through the headphones, the 'rough'/growly sound was exactly the same so I'm guessing that the problem lies somewhere 'pre-speaker'/'pre-headphones' in the sound output? Radio or tape, the sound is the same. Is there any further tests I can do or would this be a bit of an expensive fix, too technical a fix, unfixable/lost cause or am I way off the mark on this?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
