Well as some requested this migth as well get it over with...

Well me being a sucker for big boomboxes and very strapped for cash. I wanted to do something amazing, big and loud, so one i day was looking at my TRK-725 sitting on the self and i found my self thinking how could i make a perfect even better (and yes i had already done the auxiliary in mod to it) then it struck me DOUBLE SPEAKERS! But after the hype had gone down i realised that i dont have another TRK-725, i immediatly started to go through all options to get one with no luck but a week later at the local fleemarket it caught my eye another run down TRK-725 with various bits missing including a cassette door and battery plate but it was only 3 bucks, without even thinking i grabbed it with me and went home and the rest is history.

Jeepers!!! Super work!!!! Can't wait to see both these beats and the Hitachi I'm sure will not have "stock" only parts. ;-)

As soon as I find a pair of suitable boxes I'm having a go at this!....pimp that box!! :-)
How about using JVC RC-656s? Apart from the blip that was the £410 one a couple of months ago, they're all selling at around 99p each on eBay and would, IMHO, make the ideal basis for a custom lash up limo-box. Go for it, Si. With your bodyworking skills you'd carry it off, assuming the handle were secure that is. I'd gladly donate** the cabinet from one of the 656s I've parted out recently.

**-"Donate" -V- to give away in the interests of the greater good, to behave contrarily to one's Aberdonian ancestry but only on an infrequent basis.

Mmm...I think the 656 might be a good option...not too large and nice and square, might just work. I'll keep an eye out for a cheap bruiser as I flogged my decent one on eBay and got £90 for it! So I might take you up on the case donation, cheers John :-)

Is that super long handle man enough to actually lift the long box or is it more for show than go? Either way, that's a mere detail in a very exciting overall concept, amazing stuff!

No worries, just give me a shout when you want one. I could probably run to a spare cassette door too if you decide to create a double decked 656.

You've done a great job with that handle, it looks stock
I agree!

I think it is stock - two stock handles welded together (hopefully with a support rod inside).

Go!
