Hi all
I have just bought a trk-3d88 and having some problems with the sound. Sound seems to be ok when i select radio and dubbing on the select switch when i move switch to tape and cd line in the sound is very quiet. Now if i move the switch half way between radio and cd line in i start to get some good sound coming from the cd line in. Im i right in saying it looks like the select switch might be the problem, i have seen other posts saying about cleaning the switch would this help, if so how do i go about cleaning it. I have taking the unit apart and located the select switch how do i clean, do i have to take the whole switch of the circuit board to get to the switch or is there an easy option and what do i clean it with would really like some help hope someone can thankyou.

sounds like you just need to clean the switch , this can be done easily, no need to take it off the PCB, easy to locate to, can use any switch cleaner as long as it has a lube in it to, while you have the box apart may as well cean the record/play back switch, hope this helps

Thank you for a very quick response can you recommend a switch cleaner from ebay or amazon and how do i apply the stuff and how much do i use and where do i put it sorry so many questions just want to make sure im doing it the right way thanks again

a lot of people swear by the brand deoxit, just a couple of small squirts and work the switch, its really simple, cant really do anything wrong

Grab one of them Stu and your good to go. Spray some of that in the offending switch and work it back and forth a few times. Try to do the record bar to.

Thanks for your help T-STER i have order some of that stuff up and will give it a go at the weekend.I'm reliving my childhood playing with my TRK-3D88 I originally had a TRK-3D80 as a kid,there's a little bit of different between the two models but not a great deal.Just in the middle of stripping the whole thing down and giving it a good old clean now
