I made a video! Four of my heaviest hitters playing one after the other :-)

Again, I recored this with my Canon 550D which is a good cam but doesn't have high-end internal mics ;-)
So, the usual "disclaimer", the sound in the video is not representative for the real sound quality of these boomboxes.
But maybe it shows at least a little how these boxes compare to each other. Oh and don't worry, in the first half of the M90 part it's the track that doesn't thump, not the M90. In the second half of the M90 part the beat goes back to "normal". Speaking of the track, you're listening to Emil Berliner - Flummifreuden, a rather peaceful but nice one :-)

Finished Uploading!

It is really hard to make good comparo from this one. Not at home and dont have my sennheisers to hear it properly, but so far for me the best tumping and pure sound is coming from the passive radiators  . Love this soft bass soo much  . What is your opinion Fredi? You must tell it the best? And how on different kind of music? Some now days tech or electro? Sorry to bother you. Just really curious.
Thanks for the video dude.

LOVE what you did Zippy!!! Man, I wish I was there with my EDIROL UA-25EX 24 bit / 96 kHz digital interface and 2 of my studio microphones, then together we could put on the SWEETEST sound show comparo brother!!!

Ok, neat experiment, do this:
1) Let the whole video load while paused
2) Press PLAY to start the video
3) Then, on your computer keyboard, press the following numbers in this sequence: 1, 3, 6, 9

It jumps directly from M1 to WX-1 to M90 to GF-777 between sounds of all the radios...

    :smooch: :smooch: :smooch: :smooch:     :breakdance: :breakdance: :breakdance: :breakdance:

Thanks for the vid, even with the camera you used it is clear to hear the quality of the M90, totally unmistakable.

Doing this with proper equipment would be awesome

It's reeeeaaaally hard to say. WX-1 bass is a little deeper/tighter than M90 bass but is still outranked by the Hifi Studio. GF-777 is aaalmost on par with the M90.

Sound quality is hotly contested, too, though the Hifi Studio definitely wins here. I have one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. They're playing all the time and greatly plays all kinds of music without ever needing to adjust treble/bass. The second place is fairly a tie between WX-1 and GF-777. Both sound great! Maybe the WX-1 is ahead just a tiny little bit but I gotta listen to it more and let it play more different kinds of music to say for sure. I'm not sure about the M90, maybe I just need to listen to more kinds of music on it as well but for now I'd say it takes the last place. Sound seems the least clear to me during the rehearsal though in the vid it's very good.

Loudness ranking is rather easy :-) Indisputably number one here is the M90  Followed by the GF-777  But I'm not completely sure about third and last place :hmmm: In the video the Telefunken seems louder than the WX-1 although I thought they were rather equal.

The most important question however is: How do they perform out on the streets? :-D Cause that's what it's all about, right?
And this is where the M90 shines! It's the lightest of the four! Even the GF-777 weighs a little more, Hifi Studio weighs a lot more and the WX-1 pushs the term portable to new dimensions
The M90 is the best to carry, the loudest and still has good bass and that's what counts.
Second place goes to Sharp. Second loudest and second best to carry. Bass-wise a little weaker than the M90 but sound-quality-wise a little stronger. With the other two we've reached a point where performance doesn't matter too much anymore cuase it's kind of overshadowed by the weight and you're not likely to carry take 'em out too much.

All this is a rather quick and subjective impression! Feel free to disagree and share your own opinions ;-)

Nice demo and the sound quality is pretty darn good.
I have had all of these boxes and my favorite sound quality was
From the 1-M. And is the only one I still have for that matter

great video  It's just a little hard to tell with the type of music playing :hmmm:
You're probably right there. I chose something rather calm so there wouldn't be too much input for the cam's mic to record it more or less properly. Maybe I'll have another go at it with a different kind of music :-)

agree the wx1 played a deeper bass -- the m90 had the sweetest highs

strange as i just played this and you can hear a difference between all four - but two stand out above the other two and there seems to be some thing missing in the middle of these four to my ears

top sound is the M90 - loud yes, but plays all the sound clear and well
second is the 777 - sounds loud but a bit muffled and missing some of the clear sounds heard on the M90

third is the M1 - not as loud but has a clear sound
forth is the WX-1 just doesn't sound as good or near the top two, but close to the M1

cool vid
