A bit late on the introduction, but here we go:

Im currently here in New Mexico, have a great family, and am currenly working on a getting a boombox collection worthy of posting on boomboxery. It is a long journey, but worth the fun.

Throughout the years I've always had a ghettoblaster or two, as I moved from place to place. I've never owned a home stereo system, even in the 80s.

Somewhere along the way I lost my originally purchased CFS-77, so if anyone finds a minty one please let me know!

Anyway, a year ago or so I bought a house. What better way to celebrate, I thought, than to FINALLY have a home stereo system. Picture is below! It sounds great!

As for my posts, I tend to throw in some humor sometimes, so don't take me too seriously. :-)

Yes, the boombox really is the speaker system, and works great.

That looks like a nice little Sanyo receiver you have. :-)
Thanks Fatdog. I have been buying speakers for it for a while, and every time, that lowly sharp wins out, and I end up putting it back up.

I tried the jvc PC-W300 speakers tonight. Once again, the sharp wins. :-)

I like the lights on the Sanyo. Simple, but effective

Hey man don't worry, we know the difference between a well placed joke or jab and intentional hurtful statements. Belated welcome to you! :-D :-D :-D

Hi all, its been fun. But, I think I need a break from boomboxery. I wish everyone the best at collecting their grails.

I think my "You know you are a serious boombox collector when.." post was the most fun, so feel free to add to it by the time I get back.

I got lost in the internet for a few years, but I have found my way back here. :)
In the last few years I have updated the home stereo, and managed to pile up quite a collection of cassette tapes!
If anyone has interests in seeing posts of either, just let me know!

Is is good to see some of the same names as years ago. Although, seeing James and badboybill sell some of their amazing collections is a bit hard to see. At least some of the boomboxes will be staying with boomboxery members.

Welcome back! We all need a break. I did. Others have too. I personally can't stand all the connectivity, facebook, linkedin, yadda yadda. What I did was decide what I would get involved in and treat everything else like good old fashioned paper mail. :-)

WoW, the prodigal son returns! How are you Phil? Hope all is well. Don't need any pictures of cassette tapes but those huge monstrous speakers is another matter. Do share pics of those speakers with everyone -- I sure wouldn't mind seeing them again.
