Just scored a Holy Grail! Near mint M90! Everything works great so far except it needs a new belt and the FM is touchy.
The biggest problem is with the Line in. It wont play in Stereo. Only the left side works. When I switch it to mono I get mono sound from both speakers, but in stereo only the left side. I tried touching the 3.5 jack with my finger and still only get a buz from the left side, the right is silent.
The tuner and tape both play in stereo fine.
Is this something some deoxit might fix?
Or would I be able to replace the line in pre-amp with one from another model donor boombox?
Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Line in switch contacts maybe dirty. You may have to deoxit the function selection switch :hmmm: You can also try to flip switch back n forth a bunch of times to see if that clears it.

Very nice, once you get it fully working your going to have one of the sweetest one piecers.

First and easiest thing to try is Deoxit on the selector switch, it may be that simple.
Next is the jack board, make sure all connections and wires are good then check the selector switch to verify that it's mechanically working in line in mode. After that your more likely looking at electronics but I would definitely start with the basics first, most problems are solved that way.

Also be sure to check and clean the phono/line in selector switch on the back of the M90.
It can be prone to the problems you are describing.

also the band selector push buttons get dirty over time they prolly need a good lube/cleaning , had the same issues with mine .

Like Skippy mentioned the "phono/Line in" swith is the culprit in many instances.

I had the same problem with my Sharp GF777 and a good cleaning of that switch solved the problem. In most cases this switch was never used for years and oxidation at the contact points causes all sorts of problems.
Good Luck!

I'll 2nd, or 3rd that comment on the LineIn switch in back. I'd have the same issue and just have to switch it back and forth a couple times. MAKE SURE YOU TURN VOLUME DOWN if you do it while an audio input is 'hot' and you switch with from line-in to phono as it'd be quiet loud.

Line in switch on the back ill say is 99.99% the culprit. Mine acts up every now and then. It messes with the needles as well. When the needles stop moving on mine I touch it and they move again. Good luck!
NOW POST SOME PICTURES!!!!!

Holy snap! It is the switch! Turned it on right now and it was working for a few minutes then cut out, so I just touched the switch and sure enough it came back. So Deoxit should take care of it right? Oh and pics are coming up!

I drowned mine in deoxit while moving it back and forth till it got nice and smooth. Buy a new can and go at it. Make sure to let it dry before turning or connecting the radio to the AC outlet. Ya don't wanna fry the amps. Enjoy it! I know I do!
