HELP. Found lasonic but theres a prob

Ok, So as most of you will probably know i have been looking for a good-excellent cond lasonic TRC-931. I found one but the thing is The box is to big and the post office will not ship it to AUSTRALIA.They measured it the width,length and height were all okay,but the girth was oversize by 8''.The fellow told me if it was 8'' less it would cost $133.00 to ship. It's $340.00 to ship UPS. Does anyone in the usa/Pennsylvania want to help me get my dream boombox?

Check out this thread. The 5350 is bigger than the 931.
Maybe you could get the guy to ship it like that.

Thanks i suggested it.. fingers crossed.. Although there isn't long of the auction left and the seller wanted me to retract my bid as he wasn't going to send it to aus which i did at his request. See what happens thanks for your reply!

USPS has limitations on size, from what I've gathered, but couriers like FedEx don't work on the same rules.

Try and see if he can get a quote from one of them.

So, does the shipping box "bubble" out on the sides? That's the only way I can see the girth being like that if every other measurement is okay.

He wouldn't go into specifics after much effort he decided that It was just not viable to ship to australia..
ah well the search continues.. it seems when I find a good box that im after no one wants to send
