Hello, I recently became boombox collector and enthusiast. I've started my collection few months ago with old JVC RC-838 which I acquired with few flaws and was able to restore to working condition. I recently added yet another 'challenge' to my collection in form of Hitachi TRK-9150W. I’m looking forward becoming part of this great community and sharing my restoration experiences and challenges.

Cheers man and welcome! Nice start on the boomers, too.

Where might ya be from?
I'm from Connecticut, U.S. but travel often to the old continent to visit friends and family. How about you ?

Welcome to the family, this is the best place to be for all things BOOMBOX
Thank you, it's a great hobby to have. These old boomboxes are pieces of art and build to last, nothing is build this way anymore.

Soon to be frozen Manitoba. Was just curious as you hadn't yet listed in avatar (now have) and the spelling of your name is Old Country-ish.

A warm welcome to you, dkanarek! I very much like your first BB as it stands proud and strong, confident and sure of itself. As for the Hitachi: I like this as well 'cos it 'means what it says and says what it means', not to be messed with! I've even have one of those types of Hitachi's on my wish list. I like your choices!

Coincidentally I was just in Toronto & Peterborough on vacation and often visiting client in Montréal. As of cold, I can relate as I was born in Poland.

Thank you. My JVC definitely created hunger for more. As of Hitachi, my dad use to have one and I always admire the style, build and power of these units. I'll be sure to post some before/after restoration pics and share my experiences. :-)
