Hello everyone,

I found Boomboxery when looking for info on the Sharp VZ-2500.

I've always loved radios since as a small kid I fell asleep with an old Sanyo RP5000 under the pillow listening to distant MW stations in north africa). Now I have a special pleasure in restoring/fixing old radios. To me there's something special in listening to music on a radio built around the time the music came out. My first boombox restoration was the sharp qt-77, my teenage years companion (I have little electronics knowledge so swapping bad parts for good ones is the limits of my ability). I've managed to bring a toshiba rt-200s boombox to working condition too with it's novelty reverse tape mechanism.

I bought an old sharp VZ-2500 recently. Amazing piece, now I can listen to my records anywhere in the house and they sound good. New belts are on the way.

I also have on the mail two models I've kept my eyes on for some time: the sony yellow CFS-902 (I'm an early Sony Sports series fan since my teenage years) and a Philips Le Cube D-8082. Both scream of endless summers to me.

I'm also a fan of Sony Sports yellow walkmans and have a few in my collection. I mostly like the early ones, for some reason. I actually still go running with one everytime.

I wish I could learn more about electronics but... where to start?

Thanks for reading.
