Hello everyone.
I'm a big fan of vintage audio and video electronics. I love finding functional pieces. Unlike a lot of you guys, I absolutely don't' like fixing them! I just don't have the patience for it. I still enjoy the hobby of collecting vintage pieces, though.

Welcome, I'm the same i used to build world record breaking computers repair boomboxes etc, it has all gone out of the window

NOW

it takes me all my time just to plug something in lol

Honestly. And I agree with your approach ... It's great if the thing works. But with such old electronics, things often go wrong ...

Hi welcome... I'm new also but I've become slightly obsessed with fixing them... or rather enhancing them shall we say with extra bells & whistles so to speak... anyway hello from the UK !

It's great if you can replace the rubber bands on the cassette players yourself, or the sponges on the speakers. But if there is even more knowledge, so much the better ....

I have replaced many cassette deck belts. That's not really much of an issue for me if the motor and flywheel is easy to access. It's when I have to remove circuit boards and tons of screws to replace transistors or work on a cassette mechanisms. I leave that stuff to professionals.
