Hello Ladies and Gents,

I was just turned on to this site from THAFUZZ, who I met over on stereo2go.com and recommended that I stop by and check it out. I am still new to the hobby, but I have an extensive background in electronics that I picked up in my CB/ham radio hobby.. SO far I have 4 boxes, mostly cheaper stuff but hey, we have to start somewhere right?

1: Superscope/Marantz CRS-4000 (1978)
2: JVC "Quintet" PC-5 (1981)
3: Panasonic RX-5150 (1983)
4: Hitachi TRK-8200 (1981?)

I hope to meet interesting people and learn more about the hobby, which I have to say is pretty addictive. Thanks for reading my blurb, have a great week!

Yo Matt! Glad you stopped by here for a look. Take off your coat and set a spell. I'm "baby boomer" on S2G, and still post there from time to time. Mostly just lurk, tho.

I was born and raised in Chicago. Taught school in Northbrook, drove for the CTA (both Archer and Forest Glen garages) and then left in '73. Been back dozens of times, mostly for Portillo's beefs and Brown's chicken, but also to visit family and listen to Steve Dahl. Both the city and suburbs have changed lots since I was there. Can hardly find my way around anymore... but I try. Last time, I stopped in for a skate at the Fleetwood Roller Rink on Archer and Harlem. Surprised to see it still standing. Also surprised that it hadn't been remodeled one bit since my childhood. (Pretty skanky!) I'm a south side boy: White Sox, Jay's Chips (now gone), and the original Rainbow Cone on 92nd & Western.

Hope you post a lot, share some photos of your growing collection, and keep us up-to-date about the goings-on where you live. Glad you found your way here!
