Welcome aboard.
Take a look out for the service manual as the first place to start. It will help with disassembly instructions..
You will need some contact cleaner to spray in all of the switches as a first port of call to ensure that it is not simply a contact issue.
The tape deck has a record bar which must be cleaned thoroughly as this can affect audio and intermittent channel audio issues.
Once you have cleaned all of these and the issue persists, you need to begin looking at the audio path in the schematic.
docs,im already use contact cleaner and dissasembly the unit from the gabbinet, the service manual was very helpful!,I desoldered all the sliders and repaired them, I managed to make them all work correctly except for the balance one, it looks really bad, at some point someone put wd-40 on it.
I cleaned it, re-painted the conductive line with conductive silver paint, re-soldered the sliders and the control board to the amplifier board and continued to listen to a single channel, the left.
then to test, he unsoldered the slider and control board again and inverted the small plastic piece containing the contact brush to use the other contact rail, which looked healthy.
now the right channel sounds and not the left one !!
Until here came my knowledge, I don't know what else to try !!
It should be noted that I am not an electronic professional and that the box was in very bad condition,
dirty and reeking of cigarette.

Welcome aboard, Mauro! Post pictures of the 838 when you can.
fatdog, I will upload photos when it is a little bit cleaner !! Someone put out a cigarette on the radio dial I think.
I wanted to upload photos of the sliders in another post that I opened but I am a Neanderthal man, today I will try again later.

Is it true that Bombeat 40’s grow on trees out there Mauro?
hisrudeness, well there really are many, I never saw that particular model, if I can tell you that the ones that are in quite bad condition generally, I really don't know why, I think people use them as "old radios for mechanical workshops or factories ".
Thank you all for the welcome and I hope I can relive that dead channel fast!
Mauro
p.d: sorry for my english !!!
