Scored one today at a local thrift store - initially looking for parts to replace antenna on newer SONY ZS-X3CP. Got it home and tape works fine - really good! But no sound from radio or aux. I see that spraying cleaner may help - do I need to use special care not to spray in the tape area? Taking the back off I noticed the antenna is "no longer" plugged onto board - yet I can not see where it would be ...
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance and Peace to you
PS Cap should read "Hello from Birmingham ..."

Hi,

A few pics of the unit and the problem areas should help spark some assistance. A function switch issue can cause problems for the tuner.

Usually the tuner and line in work fine but the decks don't work!

Good luck,

James.... :-)

Thanks ... a little closer investigation (and CRC QD) have them working - albeit intermittently - so the problem is at the switch

Welcome Lovecolour from the UK :-)

Its nearly always the function switch
Thanks ... I considered selling for parts or such, but now am thinking I might give a shot at repair since the tape works so well. Is the fact that the switch worked (awhile) after some CRC QD a sign of easy(ier) repair - not replacement? Is it easy enough to get to?
