Has this hurt your ebay sales?

I have bought alot of boxes from the States . The last 6 months or so, shipping cost went up by about 30% . Seems the only way to ship is by priority now, it`s nice to have the box in 5 days or so but the cost is sometimes just too high..Here in Canada we still have the option of express post, same as priority ; or expedited, takes 8 to 10 days and is the cheaper method that most request..

For those from the States who sell on ebay do you think that these excessive shipping charges are hurting the amount your boxes are selling for?

The economy is hurting our sales way more than the shipping expense. As long as shipping is reasonable, it doesn't affect my decision to buy. However, I would never bid on any box that advertises way higher than average shipping. I've seen GF-777's offered with $45 shipping and I've also seen them (from same location) offered with $125 shipping. I don't care what the final total price would be but typically I strike that $125 shipping one from my watch list pronto. Out of principle, I just don't think it's right. As a seller, some of my stuff goes to Canada but not that much. There is enough US competition that the prices don't get affected all that much.

I genreally accept that I will lose on shipping. Most items I ship are 30-40 $$$. I am parting a conion out because of mechanical issues and the fact its easier to ship smal stuff.

but prices have gone down a bit !!!

maybe next months prices will drop a bit more.

I have not really noticed a hike in price. When I do come across a seller with an outrageous shipping cost, I simply deduct the total amount I'm willing to pay for it. It doesn't happen that often.

Stuff like this makes me worry more than the price of shipping itself

This is the truth Johnny. Buyers whine, squirm and ding my feedback when I have to charge $40 or $50 to ship even though in many cases I'm actually charging less than it costs to ship.

:agree: which is why I'm not selling right now, I'm only buying a few key pieces I want and paying less than I would have a year ago.
