Just about to start a mild repaint on a Hitachi TRK8200. It would help if I could paint the control surfaces but I have been looking for the best way to recreate the wording on each control. This does not need to be concourse, I just wanted something that looked better than letraset. Has anyone tried this, I know the paper is pretty expensive and so don't want to waste my time and money.

If you are talking about the water-based, slide-off decal paper, it is extremely difficult to work with when using only small letters. I found that out the hard way. :-/

Your best bet would probably be to find a company who can do custom dry-transfer sheets like the old Letraset kind. Heck, you might even find some hobby stores that still have Letraset transfer sheets available.

id try the hobby shop the one here in town can have them customed printed for you so im pretty sure other ones in other towns can have the same things done.

What can they custom print? Letrasets or laser decal paper?

im going to ask them which kinds they can have custom made cause i cant remember but i know they do carry the dry transfer sheets with letters on them you just have to cut and arrange them how you need them to be placed.
