sometimes I want to stand outside of a club and blast music for the smokers.
That's when I need something big flashy and loud like my Lasonic L-30.

Other times I want to strap on something light when I am going to mail packages or to the Bank.
I will need something mostly just for me but still can grab a glance
so I grab the Cheapy

listening to NPR on the porch= GE Super radio.
and then there is the matching of the box to my outfit.

No, if one radio would do, I would be going to the Thrift all the time I suppose.

Cheers OSS :afro:

The perfect all around box for me is my custom painted M90. As everyone already knows it has great sound, is very loud on batteries, batteries last longer than I thought they would, and it has that extra pop with the metallic paint I used. I use my radios outdoors at the hoop court and this one always impresses. Whenever I take it to a picnic or pool party the sound projects very loudly and is the life of the party. I would agree with Rimmer on the fact that it is a little bass shy when compared to other heavy hitters (Kaboom)...but it is so good at everything else. I actually like the look of the M90. I wouldn't classify it as a pretty box but it has a very agressive, yet classy look that means business. When in the sunlight the looks of my M90 really come alive...I do feel I have the prettiest outdoor M90... :-D ...the paint absolutely sparkles in the sun and those dark blue woofers come alive. Every time I listen to the M90 I gain that much more respect for it's place atop the boombox world. So my perfect boombox is the M90 hands down... :-D ... Here are some pics of it in the sun...

Thank you sir...... ive always loved the m90 but my love has wained for 2 reasons the new stack i have built up.... i have simply never heard a better sound in my life..... and i have had some serious shiat..... all be it on headphones and the second reason is because i havnt taken an m90 outside for over a year because of the surroundings and where i live.... i wish you lived in the uk mell i would let you loose on 1 of my m90's i would love to see a custom paint job on my beater m90. :-)

Yes I have-for all around ourdooe use there are 2-The Sharp GF-8989II and the Sharp GF-9797!!! Excellent all around outdoor boomers.
When you need a little more power you get out the Sanyo M9994 or the 9994K-These are vey nice for all around activities!
Just my opinion & I have experience with all models except the "K" version of ther 9994 but the regular is louder!
GB. :-)

When my arms are too sore to lug the M90 around my second choice is on of my M70's. I think it is the best all around outdoor box. It is small enough for anyone to carry, is great on batteries, loud, good sound, has a great cassette deck and tuner...and I have an assortment of them in colors perfect for outdoor use... :-D

I wish i could share your passion melly Ill be brutally honest and I dont mean to offend anybody ok..... but i prolly will as usual....

But since i have built this stack system up it sounds better than any valve stuff i have heard all be it on headpones..... it just makes the m90 sound like a cheap mono radio now :'-( and god knows mell you know i love my m90's I know you cant compare any portable radio to a true hifi but i havnt used the hifi for about a week... i went to use the m90 yesterday and my god it sounded so dissapointing it was unreal... I honestly felt like crying..... i mean i have used a stack before and it hasnt affected the pleasure i used to get out of an m90 BUT this new system is un discribable...... put it this way my GRADO RS! headphones cant handle it and there suppozed to be top end headphones......but im lucky my cheap but amazing trchnics headphones from the 80's are a PERFECT match for it and i have since bought another boxed pair..... I doubt i will ever hear a better pair of headphones in my life time. the whole sound is just so amazing....
