Recently I ordered a Lasonic i931bt Mishka Monster from an online vendor other than Lasonic. So when it arrived, it was packaged so poorly that both speaker grills were dented in from the rough UPS ride from NYC. I emailed the seller and was waiting for a resolution to my dilemma, when I decided to call Lasonic directly in Monterey Park CA. I spoke with an actual live person! (which is very rare these days) His name was Albert and I told him my sad story about the damaged Lasonic. He was very helpful and understanding and told me to bring it on by and they would exchange it for a new one no questions asked! Needless to say I was stoked, and thankful that I live only an hour away from Monterey Park. So my son and I headed West! Albert was awesome and a very cool dude indeed. He checked out the damaged Lasonic, then went to the back to get me a FRESH one. Soooo, I took the opportunity to snap a few pics to share with all of you while we waited. View attachment 12281
I wanted all of them, but these were for display only :-( not for sale...View attachment 12283
I had never seen this one before

I Caught my son pushing buttons Lol, Like Father like son.

Look out Albert, someone wants your job ;-)

So out comes Albert with a brand spankin new boombox with all the fixins, he had me check it out, then packed it up for me and we put it in the truck for a SAFE ride home this time.

It was nice to deal with an actual person over the phone, and to be treated great in person, 2 thumbs way up for Albert and Wes at Lasonic Innovations! I made it home with a new respect for Lasonic, and of course a shiny new addition to the family...It was a great father son day :-)

That design looks BOSS! Love it!

Great story, SLO! Thanks for sharing.

A couple of members here have made the pilgrimage to the Lasonic holy land and shared wonderful tales too. Totally rockin to hear how welcoming and supportive they are.

Rock On.

Great story SLO,

I ended up meeting them because of a similar situation. My wife ordered a radio from an online vendor and they never shipped it. They pushed us back and forth and then told me if I didn't like it to contact Lasonic, which I did and ended up picking up mine in person too.

I agree, that design is SICK!

I want to get the new Bluetooth model. Maybe after the first of the year.

Glad everything worked out for you!

Thanks Chris, glad they came to your rescue as well! Albert actually mentioned you and Miles, and something about a documentary you guys were working on? And when I asked about replacement parts and if they sold any for the older models, he pointed me here to Boomboxery :-) I told him I was a new member on this awesome site, and that I would just keep looking for stuff either here or on Ebay.

And thanks for the compliment, I know the new style 931bt isn't everyone's cup of tea as far as the looks and shape but I'm a big Lasonic fan so I like mine, go on and let the collection grow brother! GOrta have it

Yeah man, Albert is a great guy! Waving the flag for the classic boombox.

As for the "Boombox Creators" documentary. That is Miles' baby and he is still working on it.

You can see a small piece of it here. I'm the dude with the long beard!

Awesome tale of good service :-)
Thanks! Sometimes we have to let it be known that there's genuine people out there that really support our boombox culture

Albert is on his way to collect many of the classic Lasonic's and he has radios I have never seen before. Mix in prototypes that never made it to market...yeah, you can drool  :-D

I wanted to buy an old model too, but those were staying put, I think I left some drool on the floor over there.

Nice visit. And I love the classic Roskopp Face deck!
Thanks frontside5, the visit was great. The Roskopp is a re-issue of the original design, complete with Independent Trucks and Slime Ball wheels. I wish I still had my original one from the 80's. I'm addicted to anything old school haha...
