I obtained this Marantz CRS-4000.
Hardly anything wrong other than the standard scratchy switches even the meter and tuner lights work.
It must have been used in a kitchen--but a high class kitchen--there were layers of grease--but high class grease--you know?--Not your standard hamburger joint greasing---making for about 2&1/2 hours of clean up.
It came with a Marantz brochure, owners manual (my first one ever) and the original sales slip--$278.00 in 1978---!!
So far it's working like a champ and sounds great....!
Many unusual design features--10 D batteries go into the bottom of the box--not the back as usual--
the extension speaker outlets are separated on on each side of the box on the lower casing edge--
the antenna pulls straight up--doesn't angle and must be six feet tall---
This is my second Marantz the other being a CRS-2100--and i love these machines..they are very unique compared to my other boxes--very different sound and when handling a different feel to them.
