Hello Everybody,
I was trying to find like a new member intro page since most of the forums are pretty much standardized. I live in Hampton, VA and have always been a fan of the boomboxes. When I was in high school, I use to own the big Sharp G??-777 with the four subs and double cassette. I have owned several lasonics, sanyo, etcs.
I currently own a Hitachi CX-W700 like one of your forum members. I have tried to search high and low for more information on where to get new cassette belts or at least the correct routing on it. They were working on play mode and only one of them work in FastForward and very slowly Reverse. I made it worse by putting too much lube like a dumb puppy.
If anybody can help me with some info, that will be great.

the belt will make both flywheels run in the same direction, they want to be going in opposite directions as one is driving the pinch roller via an idler, the other is direct into the takeup spool so by looping that belt between the two flywheels, that should all work fine. I have an Hitachi that uses the same transport mech and if I get home tonight I'll post a piccie of that for you.

Welcome, by the way. :-)

thanks guys for all the help, apologize about not seeing the intro page....appreciate the pics....I ordered the Service Manual/PDF file. I will make it available for others to see/use it also.

On a side note, I have been messing with all types of Mazda RX's for a while. Over 350 of them later, I am just down to one. A 1985 Mazda RX-7

This is how it sits.

Supposedly the woofer sits in that box in the middle. I heard it is just another speaker.

Update: I was able to download the service manual online for the CX-W700.

Hitachi Part Numbers for the three belts in the dual cassette tray are:

8513423 RF Clutch Assy = also used in the CXW500 and CXW750
8501746 (belt 1821-12-1730 = also used in CXW500, CXW700, HRD301, HRD351, HRMD05, TRK3D88, and TRKW545
4856283 Main Belt = also used CXW500, CXW700, TRK3D88, TRKW350H, and TRKW545

PRB only showed one belt that they have online, will call to verify http://www.russellind.com/prbline/xref/hitachi.htm

Hitachi part # 8501746 PRB part number SCY5.7

The compatible models were obtained by https://www.partstore.com/Model/Hitachi+Ltd/Hitachi/CXW750.aspx?SearchTerm=True
