Well 1st thing is you can't overkill on the bleach. You take speakers out. Use a spray bottle with bleach. Before spraying any bleach on speakers spray a few times into sink otherwise a discoloration of yellow will end up on speakers. You will also need a hair dryer for drying. Spray small amounts of bleach being cautious of black or any other colors on center caps or edge foam. Make sure whole white area is wet but not soaked...then tilt speakers upward leaning on something so bleach don't get into coil section. Let sit a few minutes, then use hair dryer on low heat to dry, constantly moving hair dryer around speaker cone (don't touch cone while wet or it could result in possible damage). Repeat on areas that did not come clean. Some cases black areas may get lightened.. With this i usually use a permanemt black marker to blacken back out....After completely dry then reattach speakers and wait an hour to test. Good luck ;-)

Fn A, bill. Think i'll wait awhile and you can let us know if theres are any long term negative effects that occur.....
Throwin a couple ideas out there...
1) maybe dilute the bleach with a little water to reduce any adverse effects from the pure strength of the bleach on paper??
2) apply with small paintbrush or qtip for a more even and less saturated application?
3) crack open a bottle of johnnie walker to help relax during application
?
Thanks bill! You just might get a gold star for this one!!!

EDIT: and i did mean gold star....not a Goldstar

I have done this on Lasonic white speakers and Sharp white speakers and my Technics and fisher white speakers  with no side effects. You don't want to brush on due to tearing the paper. When paper wet it weakens that's why you need to dry soon after. Diluted bleach doesn't seem to be strong enough  Thanks GZ for offering up your high dollar Goldstar

some of the 931s I get have white paint on them
I spend a good 30 minutes sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly using diluted paint stripper on them, and the dust caps :sadno:

best to leave them alone unless you know how to fix them up proper! :sin:
Bleach never crossed my mind :bang:

Gonna have to try this now!
