So a few months ago, I put up a Craigslist listing in my area, noting that I collect vintage transistor radios and 80's boomboxes, and if anyone had something they didn't have a use for, they could ask me if I was interested in it and if I was, I'd go out and grab them.
Last weekend a guy emailed me, saying he had a literal abundance of radios and boomboxes scattered throughout the shelves of his garage, and he says they've been sitting in his garage for years (if not decades). Wants to get rid of them cheaply, how cheap I don't know. But I'll be happy to grab three or more for the price of a dinner meal.
He provided a photo of one of his shelves, says he has so many he can't remember all the models. I'm stoked to check out this garage this Saturday evening and see what gems I come across!
As far as I can tell (after some rigorous research), the white box with the "walkman" style Cassette deck & tuner is a Quasar GX-3682, an AKA of the National/Panasonic RX-F80 (known as the "Kangaroo"). These are very rare here in the US.
The one inside the case to the right of the Quasar is a 1972 Sony CF-350 monobox, with AC Bias recording and fantastic sound for the size.

On the bottom shelf sits a Sanyo M-7735, one of those boxes with the omnidirectional midrange drivers.
That's all for now. Will update when I buy these three (and anything else, if I still have cash left over).
