Got the itch again and $300

What is the best thing I can get for around this price? A black GPO retro Brooklyn is 279 and I kind of like these. Lots of features but maybe cheaply made in China..

Suggestions? 300 is max right now...

I spoke to a friend who paid half this and he said it was not worth the money, not loud cheaply made and doesn't sound that good, hope this helps

I fail to see why people are asking hundreds or even thousands for an m70...it's nothing more than an entry level box imho

hell i only paid £150 for an m75 about 2 years ago, yea i know it's the same thing and i don't buy into all the bull lol

i mean the m70 is no comparison to the m90 in any shape or form lol

i wouldnt mind an m50, i was told they sound more like an m90, but even they are going for to much now

i just hope people aren't daft enough to pay these prices, if i paid anything like what people are asking and then heard it id get a rope lol

i would rather a jvc dp200 ....hell you could buy 2 dozen for the price of an m70

The one man anti-M70 campaign continues lol...did one bad mouth your mother or steal your girlfriend Reno? There must be some underlying reason for you being pretty much the only person who doesn’t like M70’s

To be honest I'm not a big fan of them either. Sure, they're louder than any other midsize, and they're high quality too, but the looks are too conservative, and the sliders suck. I don't see why they're worth 400-500 when that same amount could get you a mint Telefunken, or a C100 that's only missing a tape storage drawer.

If an m70 had a lovely warm sound i would have no issues also if it Really is selling for $300 or less that is ok too, i just get caught up in these crazy BIN's which i pray to god nobody is paying

It isn't just Buy It Nows, there's been plenty of regular auctions for M70's that ended for $500+.

I find that is to much my man, my last m90 only cost 500 euro, granted it needed plenty of work etc, i would rather a crown 850 or 980 conion c100 that needs work etc

at least these sound great, and have a nice warm sound to them which the m70 just doesn't have imho to the point where i just can't use it, the m70 and the 75 were the same im afraid....also i have some 3 piece boxes like a sony fh909 and jvc pcx 1000 that sound much better than an m90 and cost less than an m70, so to me i just don't get the whole m70 thing Reli bro

Well I know I’ll be a disappointment to most, and I read a TON of reviews and watched a crapload of videos and while I tried to buy a M70 there was just nothing short of complete junk in the 300 area... so I bought a Black GPO Brooklyn. I also recently got an old GE and a Pioneer SK-31. So there you go. I figure I’ll tackle the older ones being that both need work and play with the GPO and hope for the best! I’m also now enamored with the Panasonic SG-J555 as I am big into vinyl.

Well at least if you bought the Gpo new and don't like it you can send it back i guess...hope all turns out ok dude
