Last week I got the biggest package I've ever seen I think !
It opened up to reveal the biggest and heaviest boombox I've ever seen, the Sharp VZ-2000.
It works perfectly, is very loud and is in almost new condition except for some missing sliders. I am in the process of getting some hopefully original slider however, which would make it perfect.

Do you see how enormous this is !? If I had another person I'd taken a picture of me holding it, it was ridiculous.

I'll take some more pictures when there's sun/ she's complete.

Might be trading/selling this one, we'll see.

Thats somewhat unconventional packing!...the box is distinctly lacking in sturdiness lol!

Very unusual to pick one up fully working so presumably this must have had a rebelt some time in recent years...and yes this thing is damned heavy, mine never moves from its shelf. If you play the right sort of music on this its awesome and I love the novelty of this thing. Yours looks really clean!

Bredgeo makes replacement sliders if the originals don't turn up.

i noticed that some of the crappier packing seems to do better than the well packed boxes , i bought an m90 from puerto rico and it came wrapped in a few layers of cardboard and the lady at the post office slammed it down on the counter when i went to pick it up. she made it without a scratch lol. there was no padding at all in the packing just cardboard wrapped around the m90.

Shweet  love the VZ and they are very heavy. I actually tried to sell mine once but decided to bow out because I was worried it would get damaged in shipping. Glad I did :-D. Enjoy it!!!

Hey,
got some pictures in the sun, and DAMN this is a clean boombox. The only things not spotless is a scratch on the left side and the front plastic cover which has some marks and fogging :hooray: (and missing sliders but new originals are on the way).

It sure looks beat Fatdog, but he did magic with that package, like 6 layers of small bubblewrap and 2 layers of big bubblewrap and some medium size bubblewrap as well, then he custom-built a box around it because I doubt there are that big square boxes easily available. It was one of the best packing jobs I've seen tbh  .

That does look good, the "redness" in the woofers tells of a carefully kept machine but how heavy are these?
I'm wondering whether it beats the 3st 7lb of the Technics SA-C05L that I weighed last time I pulled my hypermobile shoulder out with it:

Ouch! And when I eventually find myself a VZ2k, I'll be fitting wheels and an engine for transporting it around. :w00t:

Hm.. I thought it was the heaviest of all, but after doing some research on the weight list several seem to beat it, Tosh WX-1, Telefunken studio 1 along others including yours Beosystem10.
It's a whopping 17.2 kg I believe, I can't imagine why anyone would make a heavier one !?

Peace
