got my telefunken from skippy today......man this thing is sweet!!!
thats some biiiiig sound comin from such a small box.
cant wait til i get that din adapter!! got some cassettes comin down from wisconsin too.
thanks again scott!!! very happy with this purchase!!

fatdog or anyone else, whats your take on runnin this thing without a 220V adapter? i didnt blast the volume yet but i noticed half way up the lights started to flicker.

Well, it's possible. BUT... the boombox isn't getting anywhere near the power it needs to operate at its full potential. You're basically giving it half the power of what it is designed for. That is why the lights are dimming when you turn it up. I would be more worried about messing up the transformer. :yes:

yeah...only gonna run it on batteries for now. just didnt know the drawbacks of runnin without an adapter.....im still learnin. thanks!!!

I'm telling you,I've used it for days before on 120 volts with no problems. :yes: :yes:

Just enjoy the smooooth bass it gives out.
I cranked it up at my house and the light never flickered,in fact the VU's stayed at 5 bars even cranked.

lots of us usa collectors pass on these nice old telefunkens and grundigs-
moslyt - because they have no ' flash- wow appeal '
but -
they sure are good -
and sound so strong :yes:
