Hi everyone-I finally got my 2nd.Pioneer boombox today!
It's a SK-550 and I got it for only $30.50!!
First of all there is some marks on the top-just paint fade marks that's it!
The front and the sides and back are in excellent condition!
Noe when I bought this I knew about the tape deck not working and the one side not being a sloud as the other/
So after a good cleaning & detailing I got right into it-The deck with a twist of the capstan released the deck and now it's all working!!
Oh the very,vert tip of the antenna is missing but works great! 99% there!
Then the right side not being as loud,some tapping on the bottom made it come in so upon diassembling the back & looking I found it was just a loose power plug on the board!
Now that's all fixed then the dial light was going in & out so upon further insoection the lead broke off the bulb. so I put a green LED which was to dim for the job.
Just a need a dial light now and the only other thing I noticed was the RecMute-M.S button board was broke!
It's needs a new one-it's craked in half!
I tried to repair but it's going to be replaced if not I will try to fix it but this would be a easy replacement.
The Music scanner works but just for 1 song advance,the switch is not going to work until I replace that little board.
Man this thing rocks!!
It sounds great and I like that you can keep the dial light on like my CK-5!
I even cleaned the woofers & the grills and this thing is cool!!
Just need a little board for the music scanner-rec, mute thing and a dial light but it works fantastic!
The deck is great now!!
