Got A Sharp GF-9696Z for $66.00!!

Hi everyone-Yes first of all you all probably saw the auction on a 'rough' GF-9696Z that went for $66.00 and that was for me the deal of the year! :w00t: :yes:

First of all it was filthy and has a couple of cracks & has a small hole in the bottom.
Photos tomorrow night!-Still cleaning!! :cool: :-O :afro:
The good is that it fully works with excellent grills and 1 antenna all there except the tip.
The excellent is that this thing rocks!!! Also all lights work & the FF & Rew. work great,just need to clean up the belts & pulleys yet as the play spool is sluggish in taking up the tape in play.

I'm very impressed with this unit as it get's very loud and is way cool to look at.

The only bad bummer is that the handle is missing! :hmmm: :-O

I can fix the back-the crack is quite small & could be fixed without to much trouble until I get a new back if possible.
Also there is a crack on 1 side up near the top that I feel can be fixed without it even be hardly noticed if fixed properly.
The hole on the bottom can be fixed with a good piece of plastic about the same thickness and made to fit and is properly fitted and epoxyied in but I may have this done by one of the pros here!
The other stuff I feel I can fix without it hardly being noticed! :hmmm: :yes:

I can happily say that this unit hardly looks like the unit after 1 day of cleaning & polishing! This does wonders! :-O :thumbsup: :drool:

I'm happy that you guys didn't want this!! Getting a 9696 for this price makes me very happy!

The seller packed very,very well as was a good person to deal with!

This will be so nice by the end of the winter!
Just need a handle,battery cover,and 1 antenna to start!

He is a great packer & I felt like I was stealing this! :-O

It really is coming along & again I feel it will restore nicely! :yes:
Hopefully I can find a few parts! :hmmm:

Hi Ira-That would be really cool if he did have something!
But if it's mint I doubt it but I'll ask him.

I'm reinforcing the crack in the back soon and the other crack on the one side with some special glue & pressure & then I'll hope to get some parts.

These are loud and are serious boomboxes!
It's a 3 way and the speakers & sound are perfect!

I have a couple of nice winter projects!
