I Had the Lasonic with me all day today and all I have to say is " Not Bad, NOT GREAT, but not Bad".
I didn't have my expectations very high before i got it and Im glad i didn't.
I have to say I am not so thrilled about the build quality on it.
It doesn't rattle while its hitting the bass, but the plastic and controls
dont have a quality feel at all.
especially the volume knob, Which by the way is what the tuner knob used to be. Took me a minute to figure that one out.
The antenna is about the cheapest piece of crap I have ever seen in my whole life and the battery door is a pita to close because of the overly recycled plastic its made of is very flexable.
While I had it out in the sun today the graphic decal inside of the led meter area actually melted from the sun.
I was really pissed about that.(I Almost wanted to send it back at that point) but I decided to stay positive.
I couldn't get at the graphic without removing the plastic facade that makes up the fake tuner window though.
I took the graphic out and pitched it in the pail because it was ruined ,Then removed any sticky crap that held the graphic in place ,shined up the chrome plastic that was underneath then
re-stuck the fake tuner facade. Looks good now.
I opened it up to get a look inside and on the bright side it was neatly laid out and easy as pie to dis-assemble.
I was pleasantly surprised to see real tweeters in there and the magnets on the woofers were pretty beefy.
The Ipod touch fits VERY loose, so I folded up a piece of cardboard and shoved it behind the ipod so it would stay snug in there :annoyed: I will at a later time fab a piece of foam backing to sick in place behind the ipod dock door so I dont scratch the the heck out of my ipod touch .
The dock will only accommodate ipod touch horizontally which is a bummer.
The adaptor supplied is intended for Iphone judging by the depth of the adaptor, which would explain why the ipod touch flops around in there.
The vertical half of the dock is intended for Ipod classic.
The good points to this box are
The sound quality is decent and goes pretty darn loud with little to no distortion.
The cabinet is very solid and doesn't vibrate
Its very easy to carry even with 10 D's in it.
It looks really cool.
Other than that I will have to say it has grown on me today although I wasnt too thrilled at first.
As for the Puma's I got those for Christmas as well and I love them!!!
No complaints there at all I also have them in black with white stripe and Tara Got them directly from Puma online
