Hi guys, just got back from my two month trip across the country, and awaiting my return was my Crown CSC-950F that I got from the bay a month or so back 😊. It's very staticky when the sound plays. Would this be solved by the cleaning of the pots? And also, does anyone know a color match for the front case? Thank you guys in advance as always, and I'm glad to be back with more free time 😎

... Already stumped on how to remove the cassette door cover in order to get the case separated 😂

Yep, cleaning the pots will take care of the static. In really bad cases, the pots will have to be disassembled to clean.

I wish more members would look in the Downloads section. They might get lucky and find a service manual for the box they are trying to fix. ;-)

Maybe another member can chime in about the color match paint. Maybe Melly would know.

Don't worry, I was sure to find the manual when I bought the box 😁 thanks anyway Dog, and how do I access the little hole to spray the pots on this one? I don't see em...

Some people just spray contact cleaner down the shaft where it goes into the housing. If the pot isn't too dirty, that might be just enough fluid to work its way around.

Others might prefer to disassemble everything in order to clean it. That's fine if you have the time and space for that, I guess.

Thanks again Fat Dog 😁 disassembled, cleaned and am reassembling atm. I feel dumb cause I took pics of every nook and cranny of this prior to disassembling but alas, this is what's left. Any clue where this goes? Can't find it in the manual... It goes on a screw post but which one?

It's just a clip to hold wiring down just look for a post where there's some loose wires .

Like Floyd mentioned it is used to tie/bend and hold clamp wires. In most cases they are used under speaker mounting screws. You put the bunch or wires loosely hanging and bend it to hold it there.

Looking from the front, there are two cord cramps in the 950: one on the upper corner of the left speaker and one on the lower-right corner of the PCB.
