I know I'm thinning out my collection a bit.
But I came across this very cool Hitachi CP-90 mini system for cheap recently and decided to go for it.....
Anyone else have one?
The cassette walkman needs a little attention, but I'll worry about that later.......

Oooh, minty! I remember seeing one of these on eBay some time ago - too bad that it was missing one of the portables. :-/ You should be proud of that one, Skipper.

Congrats on the Hitachi it's very unique and rare.
I've never run across a good one let alone a good one at a reasonable price or else I might have tried to snag it.

No batteries? I always assumed it was fully portable.
No,just the walkmans themselves are battery powered. The Amplifier and EQ draw 38 watts and run on 120 volts.

Thats an interesting find Skippy, it looks like it fully comes apart. Is that a pop out radio as well as walkman, also looks like theres a compartment below the radio and does the EQ came out?

Good addition :-)

Thanks Alan!
Yes everything comes apart even the EQ. If you disconnect the 5 pin DIN cable on the EQ you can use the separate bass and treble controls that are on the amp section.
When the EQ is connected it disables the bass and treble controls and the EQ is activated.
The compartment on the left of the EQ is a cover where another optional piece would go.
I don't know what that would be though. :hmmm:
