Glorious boombox weekend

Yeah, this weekend was wonderful.
Got my "Personal Grail".
Long searched , passed 2 times at ebay , now found it.

One of the first PHILIPS spatial stereos
PHILIPS 774:

In pretty good condition, nothing missing

Love this strange old design

Searched about 2 years for this one

Many nice details at it

Bringing home at my Vespa GTS
Real love:
Taking the bikers belt for the boombox, not for me.
To prevend scratches

Station memory!
Look at the tiny sliders for scalepointer marking

Wrong position!
Always put the spatial slider to the max!!

Batterie compartment clean.
It flips out to the side, interesting construction.
Only the clip is weak and needs repair

Next time a big clean up to come back to full beauty.

But this one is´nt really beauty.
So i found a D8314 compact line.

It´s more modern, more features and really nice looking

Great condition

And fully working

If you are not sure, take a look at the back side!

And then i found one accessorie i ever wanted.
An blaster bag.
Seen often at ebay, but too expensive.
But this one:
Brandnew and for 10 euros

Finally got this ... ugly? ..... ITT camping cassette

Not for me, but a friend wanted a cheap doubledecker to copy tapes

Fully working, so we got it

Nearly all other boxes are suddenly finds.
But when you are looking for a special one, it could be very difficoult.

Yes, and the sound of this old unit is very strong.

The only one i´m really looking for is now a well conditioned 170 (my first mono).
I only found this wreck a few years ago...

So the search goes on....

At the red GTS > yes
At the orange GS > no
The 2stroker makes such horrible noise, so everybody knows why it is called "GhettoBlaster"

Hope the 774 is produced around 1975 , would be my birthday date.
