Okay, not that I even have the cash to buy one (and this WOULD be grounds for divorce court!) but on eBay alot of these GF-777s seem to come from China. (The $200 shipping cost is enough to scare me away...) Anyone have any experience with these purchases? Is there some sort of voltage difference w/the units coming from overseas vs. in the US?

All of the GF-777 boomboxes are 110/220 so there is no problem using them here. Lately, there seems to be a couple of good sellers from China - at least one has 100% positive feedback and over 200 auctions. Some members here have had great luck with PeppinHK and Henry Tai. If you ever decide to take a chance, be sure and do your "homework" to determine a good seller.

I bought my first GF 777 from a guy in China too. The thing travelled half around the world .
Not one single problem. The Ebay sellers' name was Lesalbert
Most of the GF 777 boomboxes have a voltage selector.
Only GF 1000 , GF 919 , GF 909 ,......... haven't got this . Supply voltage of these is 100 Volt

I had the peasure to deal with Peppin(HK) when i bought a GF 508.
He's a great person to deal with. Delivery was very fast and the boombox was extremely well packed :surf:

If the seller is good I will buy from Mars? Country has nothing to do with it. Also people love Madionna or Brittney rubbed boomboxes.

I bought my B&O mini from a seller over that way. It took eight days to get to me, in spite of the hamlet of that name being only 70 miles to the West (ACF). By road, however, the distance is 122 miles thanks to the geography of the border region and just to put the cherry on top; three couriers took part in the procedure so my advice would be not to buy anything from residents of Mars unless you have a day to spare and would enjoy a 122 mile drive on narrow and - in parts - unmade roads that pass through farm land whose occupants can legitimately shoot at anyone they see as a threat to their stock. Weird how farmers can hold guns legally yet the police don't carry them! Yeah, Mars, give it a swerve.

Australia leads the league table for speedy and cheap postage costs to this area, with items from there being every bit as quick to arrive as the same items sent within the UK and at only slightly greater or around the same cost, this offset by the lower item prices in most cases. Buy stuff from Australia, it's as easy as buying from Scots folk but without the rust or the smell of fish.
