About time for doing this since I am new here ;-) .

Okay, hello everyone! My name is Max and I live in Germany's capitol Berlin.
I was born in April 1992 (soon 18, I know :-D ) so too late to every experience the time of boomboxes on the streets. Anyway, I have been collecting a certain Audio drama series called "The Three Investigators" (probably known as book by some of you) and came across the fact that the origin of those audio dramas is in the late 70s/early 80s. So I though I should be playing my over 150 tapes in style on an 80s tape player "thingy" and came across the subject "boombox", "Ghettoblaster", "Portable Stereo", etc. :hmmm:
From that moment on I fell in love with boomboxes, big, shiny, loud and just simply cool!
So after watching auctions on eBay for a month, I got my first box. A Crown CSC-935, a rather small model but it played tapes and had radio and chrome rings around the speakers and I really liked it. Anyway, it had issues since i bought it for 20,00 €...turned out the tape deck had a bad contact or something and so I decided, now you get yourself a nice big box for yourself that looks bad-*ss and really is a view catcher :-D .
To make it short, I came across a VINIX VPC
The offer did not say any size and the photos looked like it was really nice and big...well, epic fail, spent 100 Euros on it :-/
Well, it has its bright sides. It is absolutely MINT and has a built in clock that works as radio alarm clock and so I still wake up to a Vinix every morning  :w00t:
Well, it did still bother me that it was so small and so I looked out for a brother of the Crown I have. I actually searched for a specific model: The Crown CSC-850L. Well, I got it but with stupid repairing costs for repairings i could have done myself  it cost around 150 Euros...way too much but since I have recently painted the grills myself, and kind of made it look nice again, it should probably be worth something around that. :angelic:
So now I also had Vinyls, around 50 of them from the audio drama series and a bunch of other ones, yeah I always loved Vinyl! :-) So I bought my so far most expensive biggie, a Sharp VZ 2500 for 300 Euros but it is worth every Cent. It is by far the best box I have and i love it. :-D It is near mint and in awesome condition. The turntable works without problems! And the AUX in is beautiful.
So this is my story so far. My next plan is a GF777 but it might take a while since I am a new driver with a VW Beetle from 1960 which is also a "box" that needs some investments on it ;-) At least the 6 Volts battery hold longer than 30 minutes

I hope whoever read that novel, knows a bit more about me and I am happy to be a new member of this forum! Boomboxery is very nice! :-D
