Hi everyone!

I just did a little research about this model. I bought it in a thrift store in the USA for 10 bucks cause it looked very nice and new.
Now I come to find out I got a really good buy since they go for 100$ on eBay, that is what I read...
Is that true? Or is it just a cheap old radio?
Thanks!

i own two of these radios and first off they are not cheap little radios. they are very well made and get extremely good am reception.
they are well made very loud for a small radio.
fm reception is not totally amazing but it is very good.
i have been able to pick up stations thousands of miles away using mine. people who are after these radios are usually the dxing crowd. the people who like to listen to am radio in far aways places.
the ge super radios are highly sought after and if you are lucky as i and i believe old school scott have been you have found a fantastic little radio.

Yes, these have 4 IF stages for AM and 3 IF stages for FM. They're very selective and sensitive, making them the best performing portable in the under $100. class. Costing $79. when new in the 1980s. I prefer the Superadio I over the SR II.............too much treble with the added tweeter in the SR II...they put too much output in the audio to the tweeter and bass and treble controls don't overcome this. Music just sounds better to me with the SR I.

You can buy a Superadio III brand new today for about $45. Now under the RCA label. Some folks don't like these,...... not so good tuning calibration, etc. All black plastic not like the cool SR I & II which are silver & black ( much better looking...like the boombox's of the era). My SR III is pretty darn nice , with a hefty output, 6 "" woofer & 2" tweeter.

For $45. brand new, well worth it. You'd have to spend alot more money to get better sound from some other brand.

:agree: with the comments, these are very good radios and for the price one of the best.
Congrats on the buy Max, if it's in decent shape it's well worth the $10.

I've had about 6 and all came from Goodwill, currently have one SR I and two SR II's that need a little help but at about $3 to $5 a pop how could I say no.
