The 6035 is a much louder box.It also natively has better bass though the Blockbuster is known for its low end.The Blockbuster does have a loudness control but its output is closer to the 6035s with it engaged. The 6035 doesn't have one and doesn't need it.The input wattage is the same as with the Blockbuster's 49w.

Looks are from two different schools. The 6035 is more of a sleek space age style while the blockbuster has that classic boombox "muscle" look. The line-in on both of these boxes is excellent.Though I prefer the feel of an analog tuner, the 6035s digital selectors has a particularly nice and curiously "solid?" :dunce: and intuitive feel. Both are top notch G.E. offerings from the pre-declining era.Personally I have both but prefer the 6035 overall.

I've never heard a 5259.
and my Boombox wisdom still has a way to go before I could answer such a question with any degree of eloquence,
But I can offer this...
6035 kicks Butt!!

Cheers OSS :afro:

OSS I'm probably in the same boat as you!! I like to dig from the knowledge of these veterans for the best possible info and then make my decisions.

I had a realistic scr-8 and didn't like the sound of it as much as the 6035, but then again it could of just been my sample. I also have heard that the 5259 sounds better than the scr 8.
:hmmm:

Thanks to all that has replied thus far!

Addressing the 5259...it's 5239-A...

And yep, it does sound better than the SCR-8 but that probably has more to do with the woofs (they're different) than the guts which are the same.

Can't recall hearing a 6035 but I would imaging it would sound tighter due to cabinet design. :-)
