Well like the tittle says I gave away my DC7 !

why and to who i hear you ask :-O :hmmm:

well the guy that swapped me the 777 for old camera gear said he had a mate that was looking for his old childhood box - the DC7.... so as i'm such a nice guy i handed over the box to him - now he was over the moon with it - should be as it was mint, the perspex dial cover and record draw were so clean and not a mark on them - the aerial was clean and straight - every thing works perfect - the speaker sound lush and clean - in fact it was 9.5 /10

But why give away some thing so clean and perfect ?

well it turns out the guy who i gave it to fixes electrical things and works on planes  and also fixes any thing electrical like TV, computers, and BOOMBOXES :w00t: he was the guy to look over the 777 before it came to me - he took it apart and checked every thing was working well !
He loved the DC7 and so we made a deal that he gets the DC7 free and i get a life time of him fixing my boxes  :dj-party:

he said just drop of a load of boxes and he would give me a call when they are done and then drop off another load
I'm not going to over load him with them but i figure he can get through my lot over the next couple of years

I saw him working and he gets off on finding out what part is not working and tests it and keeps going till it's done - OCD

so as much as i loved the DC7 i knew i had to give it up to help the other boxes - I don't mind as he was so pleased with the DC7 and you could clearly see that he had the love of it and what it meant, so i knew it was going to a good home - we had a good long chat about things and how things in life should be - a job is to be done well and to it's best ability ;-)

so i now have a FIXER to sort out my machines :breakdance:

Bendy, you might miss the DC-7, but you really can't beat a deal like that! ;-) Congrats on the GF-777 too. It looks really nice. :-)

Dude you made a great deal  . The tech guy support is really important for us. Im makin presents to my tech dude anytime when i have some spare cash. He is not takin money from me, but im feelin bad about that. Im thinkin to save (who knows when tho  ) some money and to buy him a new soldering station for "live time" tech support  .

sound like a good deal to me because getting boxes professionally services will run into the hundreds of dollars anyway so you might make out better in the long run ,hell i would think about that deal myself ,it would save me a lot of work and money  and all my other boxes would be in order :-) .

Hey Bendycat,

It's a fantastic deal. Like you say, nothing nicer than someone getting something they've been after for a long time. I think more and more people are discovering that this kit was built to such a good standard that 25 / 30+ years later it (generally) still works. That GF-777 looks ultra

Cheers
