Garage sale score!

Saw this beauty on the shelf, not on the sale tables..... pointed to it like a kid in a candy store and said "how much for that!?"

After being told 4x its not for sale and throwing out 3 BEST offers, I had to leave it behind.

Not for sale, booooo


Sure was pretty to see one in person and I will stop back there in the future and see if I can buy it then. Montgomery Ward Airline, in the wild so cool.

Older couple. Probably mid 50's was the lady. The husband wouldn't come out into the garage and talk to me about it. She would have sold it for my highest offer, but I could hear him in the house saying "no way, not for sale!"


It would have been a cool score for sure. Anytime I can see a gem in the wild, that is a score any day of the week even if I can't buy it. At least they are using it and it's not in a landfill somewhere.


If you are wondering, I offered $40 but only so that some day I can come back and offer a little bit more and not be hundreds in the hole making a final, final offer . Cassette wasn't working, bottom trim across cassette keys cracked, very dirty, and pause button was flopping around .


Good idea Ira, next time I roll to that area I will bring some $$ and a boomer to trade .

It was a well loved radio and a price where I would feel good about keeping it. I will surely be back and with a trade and cash in hand. I also didn't even have any money on me at the time, so any offer I had would need to be gotten from the ATM .

I have the Wards version and it is a very nice box with wonderful sound. I love the green led meters that bounce when the music plays. Mine has a custom line input done by superduper...I would never sell this box. Definitely a keeper.
