Ladies and Gentlemen!

May I present todays garage sale find?

Sanyo M-9990

Cassette motor works, but only REV spins.

Static in the controls.... Radio sounds great, and the bass is a bit of a surprize!

When was the last time you saw a well used box with such nice battery box foam?!

It needs a bath!

I guess $10 goes a bit farther these days!

oh right, the clock! I spaced it out.... No, it doesnt work unfortunately.

The lights work....

Im not exactly sure how the sleep function works either?

Ive plugged the Line In to my CD Turntable, and nothing.... Im wondering if there is a process to this via the switchgear, or if its just not working?

It needs a good bath inside and out. I'll leave the inside part to someone with skillz!

:-)

Doesn't the clock on those run off two AA batteries? Check for that, Jeff.

BTW, that's a friggin' nice score.

M9990's sound fab, I've got one. Mine has 4 bands, but only FM works. :-/  FM Stereo-Wide really is something to behold, so I'm not concerned about the other bands not working. The tuning knob is very wobbly on mine too... that's another job on the list.

Anyway, congrats!! :-D

The line in should work if you press down play and record together...Thats how mine works anyway!

Yes, that is how these work. So, if you plan on using the Line-in a whole bunch, I'd disconnect the tape drive motor or it will burn out on you because the tape motor still turns the capstan when pause is pressed.

My M9990 tape motor burnt out when my son pressed pause while a tape was playing, and I didn't catch it unitl a couple of days later. OOPS!

Hey, if you don't care about the tape deck, I'll buy that motor off of you for $20. :-D :w00t:

Im pretty sure my tape motors burned out as well as the deck is totally dead, i was gonna try find another one in the hope a new motor would solve the problem. My line in still works though...
