The silver Funai is, to my eyes, the most pleasant version of the Blockbuster. I own the GE, which is lovely, but the touches of blue & the colorful leds in the Funai are the icing on the cake (despite the fact that I usually prefer the VUs)

It looks like a classic beauty to me but, if it' pronounced 'fun-eye' or 'fun-aye', it sounds like a brummie joke!

As I feared: no action from the cassette deck of the otherwise nice-looking, goldtone Funai stereo :-/.

Uh, is the mechanism hobbled by damage or just being rested?

Here's to hoping that the shortwave-tuner in question will please BoomBoxery folks before too long in a video by playing something by, say, Bach. From a PolyGram cassette or its kind, that is :-).

No offense meant, Rudey. I thought that my words were a mild reproval due to my wishing to see tape-deck action in the video clip. (Tape-deck use is a boombox mainstay, right?) I guess I should have left out "As I feared." Probably too formal and solemn. You take care.

How about we see one of your boxes in action playing a format and track of your choosing? A shortwave demo even?

A shortwave demo

I predict only 4 stations will come in:

- the US government time broadcast
- a Cuban station
- a couple of Baptist churches

And only at night when reception is better

Don't be too hard on him Rory, his writing style is unique, but interesting
