I bought a nifty little wattmeter on ebay for about $25.
I tried it out on a couple heavy hitters.

All boxes were fed a 90 Hz tone via line-in with maximum volume.

What is the CK-11 listed for as far as wattage? Is it anywhere near 156?

Very cool Prime !
It will be interesting to see a few more

With all this talk about 'which is the loudest ?' i have been
waiting for someone to put a decibel reader in front of some of the big
players too.

Pretty Cool. :-)
AZA...wha it's telling everyone is power consumption. A dB meter won't really tel you what the RMS power output is. There is a general formula of sorts that can be used measuring AC voltage at the speaker terminals, but the best way is to have an oscilliscope and RMS power meter with a 1kHz test tone running through the output stage of the boxes. :-D

Oh no, i just mean a general, and probably not very accurate, stand in front of your boombox with a sound meter or DB meter and see which one records the loudest, like they use at the car stereo comps where they put it in through the window of the car and let the owner crank it as loud as possible and record the reading. Anything more than that is beyond me :-D
