Last week I picked up this General Electric 3-5286A at the local swap meet. It was really dirty, all the pots were scratchy and the switches dirty. It was fully functional, but was missing one knob and the antenna tip.

Today, she got a full tear down and scrub inside and out. The control panel PC Board was removed and all switches and knobs were cleaned using deoxit.

It took about 5 hours to do....

Below is the whole processdure start to finish...this thing came out way better than I had hoped for. Still missing one knob and it needs an antenna, so if anyone has these items, please hit me up!

Fantastic work!
5 hrs. is great time, too! Of course, I take a lot of :beer2: breaks.
Shouldn't have a problem locating that missing knob. G.E. makes fine radios.

Thanks Guys,

Sometimes when you see a radio when it's filthy, you just can't tell how good she will clean up.

In this case, when I first saw this radio I thought, "Well, I will buy it because IT'S MY JOB", but really didn't think it would come THIS CLEAN!

These GE's are so classy looking too, with the green tinted glass and all the chrome and aluminum. These sound really good too! Not the LOUDEST BLASTER by far, but feature packed for the size and good solid bass at medium volume.
