Missing a tape button, has a cracked right front foot, tape player is nonfunctional, one antenna tip is cracked off, both antenna holder clips are cracked off, and for some reason behind the tweeter on the back of the unit there is a square hole cut out?

Aux in works as it should. The volume pot must be dirty because it crackles when i turn up the volume from 1-3, but after that it turns up with out a crackle. (I already did my best to get some deoxit in there but its not so easy because the volume knob does not pop off like the bass, treble, balance knobs.) Theres a few deep scratches under the tape player buttons. (Must of been forcing them down and scratching the front panel.)

All in all, I'm enjoying the punch these bad boys have. All this time I thought it was hype until I finally heard one up close. Definitely recommend these if you haven't got one yet. Its got the warmness of a baby Conion C-100. Thats all i felt in my ears when I played it for the first time.

The only drawback is the annoyingly small AUX jacks. 1/8th I believe? Lucky I had adapters from when I bought a Prosonic Pqr-????

Sorry for the shitty indoor iPhone picture.

I just spent $7.50 for a stupid car wash!! :annoyed: So I'd say you did just fine!
I have the Clairtone (covered speakers) version, and the sound is full and rich. Get yourself a tape belt and new antenna, and you're all set. Spectacular find!

Sweet deal!
Would be a nice parts box if you find another in better shape.
But hell, if it's functional, put that b!atch to work on the streets! :pimp:

I've never really got into this hobby to have complete showroom boxes. I more then likely always bang these boxes on the streets of NYC and I would be scared to bring a 110% perfect condition box out and about. I care more about functionality. I mean I wouldn't bring a box that has been duct taped together per se, but you know what I mean.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a spare tape button? Spare antennas?

Master Z, PM about them 777 parts you need. might be able to throw you some stuff. I need some Karma in my life.

That about sums it up nicely. These Risings and AKAs are really understated boomboxes.

Those are the best finds! For 5 bucks? Enjoy it and take the cash you would've had to spend on the 'Bay for a broke one and buy another box!

Great find Petey!!!
I have one and love it as well.
It also was my first box back when it first came out so to me it holds a special place in my heart.
Definitly easy to work on so crack it open!!!! That is the only way you will get any deoxit in those knobs especially the volume.
I have the cassette key you need and many other parts so if you need just ask.
I dont have an antenna though.
I have main board ,volume board, aux in plastic panel ,various knobs and switches, cassette door (for clairtone model)
will fit and just a little different cosmetically.

That's why I have my 110% droolers all the way down to beaters, some I take great care of and go easy on while others get the harsher service. It's the best of both worlds if you can accomodate the collection.
