I found a Sanyo M9990 is really rough shape the other day. It's had battery leakage, the cassette player won't spin, it has a switch broken off and worst of all it's obviously been dropped (case separated with cracks and pieces missing and 1 screw won't thread). I feel it might have valuable parts if someone needed a donor box.

What should I offer for it?

I could use the tape motor and a silver cap off of one of those switches. That would make mine 100%.

But for it to be in such rough shape I'm surprised someone even has the nerve to ask money for it??? How much do they want? Or are they pulling the old.... "I dunno, make me an offer???"

The store has been renting it out as a non working prop for film and photography. They make around $10 - 15 each time and he told me that it gets rented about 8 times a year. Its in really rough shape and its probably getting worse every time. I have already offered $50 + my Panasonic 4975 (which is fully functioning). I mad the offer to an employee who said that he'd like to make that deal but the "boss" wasn't around so I have to go in on Monday. I've pretty much given up hope because $50 + my box is - I feel a rip off for me. They don't seem to want to sell it because of how much money it makes them already. I really hate to see such a sweet box get abused like that. I want to save it but it makes money for them. The Sanyo is a sweet box. I really don't know what to do.

Oh, hell yeah. Your fully functioning boombox plus $50? All for a piece of junk?? :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: I can't believe you ever thought that was a good deal.

I have seen good working specimens of the M9990 sell for $300 but lately, prices are quite depressed. Still, that one sounds sort of rough. If you really want a fixer, (or a non-fixer), PM me.
